What is going on with the Governor of Illinois case? ?

I'm writing a paper about what is going on and one of my statements is "He contributed to firing some editorial board members." But the problem is that I don't know the details and can't explain why he tried to do this. I need someone who knows exactly what's going on and how I can get more information about it. I have looked at ABC.com, CNN.com, and other sites but can't get a striaght answer is to why he did this. Thanks!
