How can I get a guy to notice me?

I like this guy and he is kinda popular. Hes pretty much ah-mazing! But he already has a girlfriend and they have been going out almost a year now. btw we are in 8th grade..but she is in highschool and we go to differnt schools. she is in 9th grade. But I never really cared or noticed him before. He is funny and isnt shy at all. About 2 weeks ago he told one of my friends that he might break up with his girl because they havent hung out latly and he kinda likes a nother girl in our school that he noticed. And then he added me on myspace wich i was really surprised cuz hes way popular then he started talking to me and he asked me why i was so shy and then we talked a bit. But now this week we ahvent talked but I think he stares at me in the hall and in gym. But there is this other girl that he tlaked to continuously and doesnt look at me wen hes around her. So idk. Im like in a middle group, not popular, nor geeky. So how can I get his attention?
