Do you notice the Australian Open is the least respected Grand Slam?

anyone else notice the almost condescending way the players and media talk about the australian open? the players continually imply that its importance comes only from the fact that it qualifies as a major, rather than it being specifically the relevance of the australian open. for example; both times djokovic has one it he seems to only talk about the importance of having one "a grand slam", not "the australian open". also listen to venus talking about why she didn't retire, she and the journalist both suggested it was because "its a major". dare i speculate that at flushing meadows, venus would have said "i didn't retire because this is the US Open"? or that if djokovic won at sw19 he would not be talking about his victory at 'a grand slam', he would talk about winning WIMBLEDON?
