I have a Bet Hound who is overweight (just like her owner).?

My Bet Hound Dixie is overweight. She was given to me about a year ago, and I love the dog to death. But she is getting fatter by the day. She excersises and I have been feeding her low calorie dog food. But she paces and whines all night and day wanting more and more food. She will go to great lengths to get something to eat. She is not normallly a destructive dog but she tore off the rubber seal from my refrigerator and got into the refrigerator and ate just about everything the other night. She sleeps with me normally but I had to crate her up to prevent her eating escapades as I am a sound sleeper. She really loves greenbeans straight from the can warmed up and I have been feeding her those in addition to her dog food she drinks plenty of water and all but you cannot fill her up. The vets solution is to feed her less and excersise. Dixie's solution is to be sneakier and get her food anyway. Any suggestions or reasons why shes so hungry? She has been fixed.
