How to help my 4 yr old?

Hi, Have you tried her with an anti-emetic such as Gravol? If you don't want to give her the drug they do have a "natural gravol" which is made from ginger. Kool aid popsicles? Does she have a fever? She might feel better being off the cough syrup with codeine because that drug can play havoc with her gastrointestinal tract. I'm not familiar with the BRAT diet. When I did my Pediatric rotation we gave sick kids the "Rabbit" diet., which was plain rice, applesauce and banana's(mashed). They do make pedialyte freezies because I'm certain her little mouth is sore from barfing.. I think that you are doing all the right things and the Dr isn't going to tell you anything different. Does your Dr recommend giving your child Motrin or Tylenol for pain? My personal feeling is that children's Motrin should be taken off the market. It's going to be several days before you should try her with dairy. You should buy lactose free milk because her stomach has lost the ability to break down lactose. That's all I can think of right now my dear, I hope she feels better soon, take care, Donna PS is this the "corn princess ?"
