Sola Scriptura can very easily become legalistic in purpose and action if not careful. Of course a lot of the things he did that John mentioned were mainly concerning his miracles and proofs of his Messiahship. God's Laws are simply the starting place of how we are to live. From there we must discover (since so many have altered these teachings over the years) through lots of prayer and study of Scripture as a whole entity, not just in portions, to see what it is that God requires of us.
